United Cerebral Palsy of Nevada is EXCITED to bring Conductive Education to Northern Nevada–Thrive Academy.

Conductive Education is an intensive rehabilitation therapy for people with neuro-motor disabilities. Conductive Education is relatively new in the United States, but is considered a mainstream therapy in many parts of the world. The theory behind conductive Education recognizes the brain as an amazing organ capable of creating new connections and pathways when motor skills are practiced intensely and repeatedly despite significant brain damage. Conductors specialize in motor learning combining approaches of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and are responsible for facilitating the education.

The benefits of Conductive Education are vast and undeniable. Conductive Education teaches children functional skills for everyday life. The skills learned through conductive Education teach participants how to maximize their independence and how to be an active participant in their rehabilitation.
